Florida Ranked #2 for Startups; #1 for Business Environment

In a recent ranking, Florida was ranked the #2 state in the country for starting a business (second only to Utah), and #1 for its business environment.  WalletHub compared the 50 states across three key dimensions:

  • Business Environment
  • Access to Resources
  • Business Costs

The site noted that, “A state that provides the ideal conditions for business creation — access to cash, skilled workers and affordable office space, for instance — can help new ventures not only take off but also thrive.”

WalletHub 2023

WalletHub measured the business environment in terms of factors like startups per capita, growth of average business revenues, five-year business survival rate, the entrepreneur index, the share of fast-growing firms, and job and GDP growth, to name a few.

Last year, Tampa Bay was named the #4 cutting-edge area for startups.
