SPCA Tampa Bay

About SPCA Tampa Bay

SPCA Tampa Bay provides life-changing services to the people and pets of Pinellas County, such as:

  • Animal intake & adoption program: SPCA Tampa Bay cares for thousands of animals that are admitted to the shelter each year. As a For-All shelter, SPCA Tampa Bay provides help and support to all animals, regardless of species, breed or situation. Adoption counselors focus heavily on matchmaking, which helps families experience a successful pet adoption and pets gain a home where they will thrive.
  • Wildlife program: In addition to dogs, cats, pocket pets, and livestock, SPCA Tampa Bay also cares for wildlife at the animal shelter in Largo. Our team, in collaboration with local partners, provides medical attention and rehabilitation services for possums, blue jays, squirrels, rabbits, and more animals native to Florida.
  • Community programs: SPCA Tampa Bay offers assistance to pet owners experiencing difficult times. We have a robust pet food pantry network as well as a monthly community pet vaccine clinic. SPCA Tampa Bay understands that financial issues often lead a family to have to make the difficult decision to surrender a pet. These programs aim to help keep families together.

Our Vision: Create a community where every animal matters.

Our Mission: Through passionate collaboration with our community, we transform the lives of animals.

Our Core Values: Compassion, Community, Customer Experience and Teamwork

“This community is full of people willing to help others succeed. There’s a genuine sense of collaboration and support that I’ve never felt elsewhere. The size of St. Pete means every person can make a difference and can have a significant impact. We attract people who want to engage and move the whole community forward. That creates a lot of opportunity.”
