Intentional inclusivity and equity are two of the City’s “We Are St. Pete” principles to make sure everyone has a seat at the table and that growth benefits our entire community.
The shared value of inclusivity brings us together. We believe that tolerating differences isn’t enough, and doesn’t express true inclusivity. True inclusivity is about equal opportunities and representation. It’s a work in progress, driven by ongoing dialogues and activism.
Artists express the spirit of inclusivity on murals, shop owners proclaim it in their store windows, and it’s right there in the business community too. All are welcome, and all belong.
St. Pete regularly scores a perfect 100 on The Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index. We are one of just three cities in Florida to be honored with the distinction.
The ability to access opportunity is core to the fabric of an inclusive society. Thanks to the City of St. Pete’s initiatives, and activists in the community, many barriers to inclusivity are fast becoming rubble.
St. Pete has become a healthier, safer city with unprecedented growth in historically underserved areas. Our reduction of unemployment rate is outpacing the state, and the nation. New business license applications are also outpacing the state and nation in certain areas—a shining example is increased applications from South St. Pete’s Community Redevelopment Area.
To be an inclusive city, everyone should have access. St. Pete is working hard to make its communications, as well as sidewalks, parks, amenities, and events, accessible to people with disabilities.

The St. Pete EDC is located at 111 2nd Ave NE, Ste. 610, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Parking is available in the Plaza LAZ lot located next to the building; use GPS for 221 1st St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701, which is near the entrance located on 1st Street N. between 2nd and 3rd Avenues.
Parking is $5/hour for the first 3 hours and $20 thereafter; it is a card payment facility only (no cash). Visitor parking is on the 1st and 4th floors; please note there is no handicapped access from the parking garage above the first floor.
There is also surrounding street parking; pay with ParkMobile or in the Sundial Garage located 2 blocks away.
