In Ancient Greece, to possess arête meant one had achieved excellence in their chosen field after realizing their full potential and fulfilling their purpose. Today in St. Petersburg, Arête Solutions is committed to pursuing their own arête by providing agencies of the US Federal Government with the most up-to-date, efficient, and cost-effective technology products and services. They strive to continually provide the latest certified technology solutions that enable their clients to transform to a hybrid cloud infrastructure, protect their digital environments, empower their data driven organizations, and enhance workplace productivity.
This IT Value-Added Reseller was founded in 2017 in St. Petersburg’s Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone). Arête Solutions currently operates out of the TEC Garage co-work space within St. Petersburg College – one of several co-working spaces dotted along the downtown area. For the time being, one local employee collaborates with founder Dan Holland, but they hope to hire 10-15 more local team members in the coming months, reflecting both the collaborative nature and rapid growth of the city.
Those aspects of collaboration and growth were among the list that led Arête Solutions to call St. Petersburg its home. Other factors that caught Holland’s attention stem from the city’s live/work/play environment. The city’s proximity to Federal clients and partner resources in the quickly budding tech industry of St. Pete served as the company’s primary economic drivers. Our downtown’s HUBZone status was an added bonus, placing Arete Solutions amongst a group of firms that are guaranteed prime contracts with Federal agencies under the HUBZone Empowerment Act.
In addition to the allure of these economic factors, Arête’s founder was attracted to the St. Petersburg lifestyle. Living here, team members have great beaches, restaurants, and a thriving arts scene right at their doorstep. Dan Holland, the company’s founder and CEO, perfectly summed up with it means to work in St. Pete. He stated, “Personally, I think there is a vibrant start-up culture that is exciting to participate in, and I get to ride my bike along the water past Coffee Pot and through our incredible parks to and from work every day – it’s the best!”
