St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay continue to grow as a hub for blockchain technology. A recent Crunchbase article highlights several blockchain companies that are located at the St. Pete-based Tampa Bay Innovation Center or have participated TBIC’s Innovation Accelerator program, which prepares tech ventures to scale their companies:

• Block Spaces (TBIC Innovation Accelerator 2021 cohort), blockchain integration platform
• eNotary Log (TBIC Innovation Accelerator 2019 cohort), online notarization platform
• SKUx (Downtown St. Pete at TBIC), financial technology consumer rewards platform for retailers, brands, and marketing agencies

SKUx uses blockchain to help consumer brands and retailers minimize fraud, using a consumer engagement took that “combines offer details, serialization, funding, and settlement,” said Co-founder and Executive Vice President Bobby Tinsley after the company raised $1 million in equity financing in a new round of funding last year.
