St. Pete EDC welcomes SmartChoice Communications as Trustee-level Investor

CEO Jarrett Wolfe joins EDC Board of Governors.

The St. Pete Economic Development Corp. is pleased to announce SmartChoice Communications as a new Trustee-level Investor in the EDC. SmartChoice is a managed connectivity service provider that offers a single, streamlined solution for enterprise connectivity, eliminating the complexity of managing multiple vendors, contracts, and support teams. SmartChoice first invested in the EDC at the Ambassador level when they moved to the EDC and immersed themselves in the city. This year, they increased their investment to the Trustee level.

We are also pleased to welcome SmartChoice founder and managing partner Jarrett Wolfe to the 2025 EDC Board of Governors. Jarrett has devoted his career to helping small businesses, whether it be not-for-profits, where he continuously donates time, money, and resources, or helping CIOs with multimillion-dollar budgets control costs while improving technology.

About SmartChoice

St. Petersburg is at a pivotal moment. This city isn’t just growing—it’s evolving. It’s attracting world-class companies, visionary leaders, and brands that are redefining what it means to do business in Florida. And SmartChoice is here to ensure those businesses don’t just land here—they thrive here.

Expansion is about building an infrastructure that works from day one—a foundation that ensures seamless operations, consistent performance across locations, and the ability to scale without roadblocks.

That’s where SmartChoice comes in. Their all-in-one approach to voice, internet, and collaboration tools ensures that companies moving into St. Pete can hit the ground running, stay connected, and focus on growth—not IT headaches.

They’ve built their reputation in high-demand, high-performance business environments, ensuring that enterprises—whether opening a flagship headquarters or expanding across multiple locations—have the reliability, scalability, and efficiency needed to succeed.

But beyond what they do, it’s about who they are. Their philosophy is built on partnerships over transactions, creating long-term value, and ensuring that every company that sets up shop here has access to world-class technology and service—on par with any major business hub.

Why SmartChoice invests in the St. Pete EDC

Jarrett explained why SmartChoice decided to invest more in the EDC, saying, “SmartChoice is deeply invested in this city. We’ve committed our resources, expertise, and support to help St. Pete grow—because when businesses thrive, communities do too. That’s what the EDC does, and that’s what SmartChoice does.”

Mike Swesey, president & CEO of the St. Pete EDC expressed his appreciation for the company, saying, “The future of business in St. Pete is limitless. With partners like SmartChoice, we’re building it together.”
