“St. Petersburg, Florida, is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts,” according to SmartAsset.com, which ranked St. Pete the #1 city in the country for outdoor enthusiasts to live and work.
SmartAsset ranked 95 cities on:
- Down payment-to-income ratio
- 5-year change in median household income
- July 2021 unemployment rate
- Percentage of commuters who walk or bike to work
- Nature parks and campgrounds per 100K residents
- Air pollution
- Percentage of the city that is parkland
- State outdoor recreation economy
- State and national park coverage
St. Petersburg received an overall score of 100.
Earlier this year, the Trust for Public Land ranked St. Pete’s park system #1 in Florida, while nearby St. Pete Beach was named the #1 Beach in America by TripAdvisor.
