Track5Media Opens in St. Petersburg

Tampa Bay Business Journal

Online recruitment firm Track5Media has expanded beyond its Lancaster, Pennsylvania base with a new office in downtown St. Petersburg.

The 1,400-square-foot office, at 112 2nd Ave. NE, near the Sundial retail plaza, currently houses five Track5Media workers, or about 25 percent of the company’s full-time workforce. Additional hiring is expected for the St. Petersburg office, a press release said.

The Track5Media office is located at 112 2nd Ave. NE, near the Sundial retail plaza.

Track5Media operates several job board websites, with a concentration in health care recruitment advertising. The company was founded in 2007 and ranked No. 1,501 on the 2017 Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies, with $3.9 million in 2016 revenue and 271 percent growth over three years.

No financial incentives were offered from Florida, a spokeswoman for the company said.

The company was attracted to St. Pete because of its tech talent, said Oliver Feakins, president. Track5Media was looking for web developers and was surprised to find several qualified candidates in Florida.

“St. Petersburg is an up and coming technical hub in a beautiful, large metropolitan area that still seems like home,” Feakins said.

He said he hopes the new office gives the company more flexibility to hire a talent pool with top skills, whether they are in central Pennsylvania or Florida.

Other technology companies that have moved to or expanded in St. Petersburg also cited the talent pool in the area as a factor in their decisions. The PennyHoarder, a personal finance website headquartered in downtown St. Pete, said it would hire 165 new employees by the end of 2020, after it qualified for or up to $990,000 in state and local tax refunds under the Qualified Target Industries program in 2017. Aggressive hiring plans by InsideOut, a sales innovation lab, led the company to expand into two floors in the  First Central Tower at 360 Central Ave.

Track5Media considered other locations, but St. Petersburg was the “ideal choice,” said Austin Smith, director of development.

““Tampa Bay is rapidly transforming into a center for technology and it offers a unique waterfront lifestyle that makes for a highly desirable place for our employees to live and work,” Smith said.

Track5Media’s websites include TravelNurseSource.com, AlliedTravelCareers.com, LocumJobsOnline.com, AllPhysicianJobs.com, and AllTruckJobs.com.
